Anxiety
Having navigated the challenges of anxiety personally, I deeply understand its impact – from paralyzing moments to overwhelming anxiety attacks. My experience has shown me that it’s possible to find calmness, clarity, and presence, gaining control over anxiety for a more peaceful life.
Anxiety is a part of us, and it is counterproductive to push it away, hate it, or try to silence or numb it. When we start seeing anxiety not as an adversary but as a natural response that can sometimes become overwhelming, we can turn towards this part with compassion, and we can help it calm.
Calming our anxiety is essential, and this process involves calming the body, as a calm body and a calm mind are harmonious and mutually supportive. You will learn simple techniques to calm your body, which will in turn help you achieve greater clarity of mind.
In our journey, we will focus on unraveling cognitive distortions such as ‘mind reading’ – assuming others have negative thoughts about us, and ‘catastrophizing’ – expecting the worst-case scenarios. By working to recognize and reshape these thought patterns, we can foster a more rational and peaceful perspective. The strategies you’ll learn are designed to integrate smoothly into your everyday life, providing relief from mental and physical symptoms of anxiety.
Both ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) and cognitive strategies are used to help clients transform their interactions and responses to anxiety and gain confidence in managing it effectively for a more peaceful state of being.
